Job Description
Bellevue, WA 98006 AND kansas city, MO (Hybrid)
6-12 months contract
- Engineers will receive incoming requests via the Service Now ticketing system. The request will specify what the customer believes is necessary to allow connectivity required
- Engineers will need to challenge request details as necessary to ensure that only the minimum required access is provided. Guidelines about best practices for rule structuring will be provided.
- Engineers will then transfer requirements into a tool that will help format API commands required in order to grant access; engineers will execute commands against API, publish firewall policy updates and push policy to gateways.
- All requests (fulfilled and rejected both) will be documented within the service now. The critical component is the speed of handling each request. The target will be 20 minutes per ticket per engineer (24 tickets per day)
- 3+ years of experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer
- Understanding of firewall policies and security protocols requires checkpoint experience, Fortinet and Palo Alto are nice to have
- Experience working with the Service Now ticketing system
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, cybersecurity, or equivalent
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to complete within established time frames
- Ability to learn and adapt to new or evolving technologies
- Possessing technical security certifications is a strong asset
- Ability to write and edit formal-technical documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication
