Job Title: Systems Analyst (Tableau)
Location: 1201 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208 (onsite)
contract : 12 months
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for using Tableau to design, develop, implement, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that provide valuable insights to the Maryland State Police (MSP) organization and stakeholders. A key aspect of this role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather reporting requirements from stakeholders.
- Follow Center of Excellence procedures for project execution.
- Develop and maintain data models that align with agency requirements and needs.
- Create and maintain data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for developed solutions and instructional procedures.
- Attend MSP ITD meetings as required.
- Provide regular status updates on assigned tasks to MSP supervisor.
- Offer after-hours support as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Deliverables/Acceptance Criteria:
- Tableau data models, dashboards, and reports.
- Documentation of instructions and methodology used in development.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or another related scientific or technical discipline, OR three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field.
- Tableau Certification.
Experience Requirements:
- General Experience: At least three (3) years of computer experience in technical assignments with close supervision and direction.
- Specialized Experience:
- At least one (1) year of experience creating SQL queries.
- At least one (1) year of experience with Tableau Desktop.
- At least one (1) year of experience with Tableau Server.
- At least one (1) year of experience using Tableau Prep.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Python (programming language).
